Colony One at Sea Mountain resort is one of the most serene resorts on the Big Island. Perfect for those who want to get the true Hawaiian experience. Colony One at Sea Mountain Condos are located on the South end of the Big Island only 60 minutes from Hilo and 80 minutes from Kona and 25 minutes from Volcano National Park. The two closest towns are Na’alehu (7 miles South) and Pahala (5 miles North).
Walk to the world famous Punalu’u Black Sand Beach, and swim with the green sea turtles which bask on the beach all day long. All short drives from the resort: Green Sands Beach, South Point Cliffs, Kilauea Volcano, Ka’u Coffee Mills, and so much more. Green Sands Beach is the only natural beach in the world that encompasses beautiful green sand made out of olivine crystals. South Point cliffs are the most southern point in the United States and are world renowned for amazing views and cliff jumping excitement. In the other direction, Kilauea constantly spews out lava in the Volcano National Park for all to see year round. The Ka’u Coffee Mill is famous worldwide for it’s superior unique coffee taste- see the farm itself and take a tour of the beautiful uplands of the Ka’u district. Punalu’u Bake Shop located in Na’alehu features freshly made Sweet Bread which now ships globally, and can be sampled and enjoyed in your lunch sandwich while lounging in the gorgeously maintained grounds and gardens. Ka’u has some of the most isolated and untouched landscapes in all of Hawaii. The swimming water, fresh and salt, is warm and crystal clear, perfect for rejuvenating the body and soul. The island itself is the only place in the world that contains all 7 geographic climates. Explore icy tundras in the winder, lush green rainforests, and of course the beautiful relaxing beaches throughout the district and island.

The 18 hole golf course rolls thru the property with ocean views at almost every hole. Golf carts make the round a breeze. Hiking, mountain biking, diving/snorkeling, kayaking, bird watching, photographing, scenic drives, shopping, sightseeing, museums, restaurants and Volcano National Park are just a short drive away.

Denise - Mar 2018 - “We absolutely loved Julie's condo. It is a 5 minute walk to Punaluu Beach(Black sand beach with sea turtles). The condo had every item you would need from beach towels and chairs to a washer and dryer and well stocked kitchen. The property has a gorgeous pool and hot tub surrounded by stunning landscaping looking out to the ocean! Kona is a 1.5 hour drive, which we willingly did every day, we liked the peace of quiet where the condo is and drove to the busy side. We will come again!!! Thank you Julie!!!”
Parisa - Apr 2018 - Our stay was great! Julie was responsive and accommodating. The condo is a < 5 min walk to Punalu'u beach which is amazing. It was also very conveniently located to the Volcanoes National Park so it was good home base for us to explore the beach and national park. The condo was clean and comfortable with a well-stocked kitchen. If you are interested in snorkeling or beach activities you will need to remember to bring your own as they are not provided by the condo and there are no rental places at the beach. It is in a remote location which is great for relaxing but plan your groceries and meals accordingly. I would definitely stay here again.

The locals were great in sharing their input on when to jump. Friends joined us in their Jeep to take us to Green Sand Beach. We had breakfast at the Bakery and great local dinners and lunch. Your information in the condo was very helpful. I was concerned when I signed up for no A/C in Aug but it cooled off to a pleasant sleeping temperature. I love the louvers - what a difference that makes in keeping the rooms cool. The pool and jacuzzi were a hit along with Black Sand Beach. Thanks again. The kids said their favorite part of HI so far!”
